Australia has a national emergency. Every two minutes police are called to a family violence matter. Every week a woman is killed by a current or former partner. Violence against women is preventable. Worryingly, an increase in domestic violence corresponds with the increase in public discourse on the issue. Authors Karen Viggers The Orchardist’s Daughter, Rod Bower Outspoken and Jane Gilmore Fixed Up, join Phil Barker The Revolution of Man to discuss the causes of a style of masculinity that is suffocating and constraining and can ultimately lead to domestic violence, where the victims are almost always female. How do we turn toxic into positive masculinity for the benefit of men, women and children?
