YUMNA KASSAB

Yumna Kassab is a writer from Western Sydney. She studied medical science and neuroscience at university. Her first book of short stories, The House of Youssef, has been listed for numerous prizes, including the Victorian Premier's Literary Award, Queensland Literary Award, NSW Premier's Literary Award and The Stella Prize.

LISA MILLAR

Lisa Millar is a television news presenter and journalist and is currently co-host of the ABC’s News Breakfast. Lisa returned to the ABC in Australia after a decade-long posting as bureau chief in both London and Washington DC, covering some of the world’s biggest stories. She won a Walkley Award in 2005 for investigative reporting. Daring to Fly is Lisa’s story of conquering fear and finding joy.

RICK MORTON

Rick Morton is the senior reporter with The Saturday Paper and the author of the bestselling memoir One Hundred Years of Dirt. He is the recipient of the 2017 Kennedy Award for Outstanding Columnist, and his book was shortlisted for the National Biography Award 2019 and longlisted for the 2018 Walkley Book of the Year. His latest book is My Year of Living Vulnerably.

VERONICA GORRIE

Veronica Gorrie is a Gunai/Kurnai woman, a writer and the author of Black and Blue, a memoir reflecting on her Aboriginality and the decade she spent in the police force. Black and Blue won both the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Indigenous Writing and the Victorian Prize for Literature in 2022. Her first play, Nullung (‘maternal grandmother’ in Gunai), made its debut in 2021, the first known time the Gunai language was featured in a stage performance.

Sunil Badami is a writer and academic and teaches creative writing at the University of Technology Sydney. His work has been published here and overseas, including in Best Australian Stories and Essays. He devised and presented the ABC Radio show Sunday Takeaway, plus acclaimed documentaries, including the Priz Marulić-nominated Riddle. Mystery. Enigma.
