Adele Webb is Research Lead in Democracy and Citizen Engagement at the University of Canberra’s Centre for Deliberative Democracy. Her research spans democratic theory and practice, with a focus on complex political attitudes and the potential for democratic innovation. Her book, Chasing Freedom: The Philippines’ Long Journey to Democratic Ambivalence, examines how U.S. colonialism continues to shape understandings of democracy in the Philippines.
