Colin Steele has had a love of books, reading and book collecting since an early age. He was university librarian at ANU, where he is now an Emeritus Fellow. Colin has written/edited seven books and over 300 articles. He has been a regular reviewer for numerous journals and newspapers, especially The Canberra Times, where he has been a reviewer since 1979. Since 1987 he has been convener of the ANU/Canberra Times Meet the Author. Colin was awarded the Knight Cross of Spain in 1984 for services to Hispanic culture and the Australian Centenary Medal in 2001. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities and University House, ANU and is a Fellow of both the Australian and British Library and Information Associations.
