Gabbie Stroud

Gabbie Stroud is a writer and recovering teacher who is now further recovering after writing several books about education. Gabbie has just made the leap into stories of domestic noir with a chick-lit twist. The Angry Wives Club is her first book for disgruntled women and it certainly won’t be her last.

Garth Nix

Garth Nix OAM is the author of many books, including The Old Kingdom series, which begins with Sabriel; The Left-handed Booksellers of London trilogy; and numerous others. His most recent novel is Massif. More than seven million copies of his books have been sold around the world, and his work has been translated into 42 languages. He has won multiple Aurealis Awards, the ABIA Award, and the Mythopoeic Award, and been shortlisted for the Lodestar Award, multiple Locus Awards, and others.

Genevieve Jacobs

Genevieve Jacobs AM is the CEO of Hands Across Canberra, the ACT’s community foundation. She was a journalist for 30 years, working in print, radio, and digital media as a longtime ABC Canberra presenter and, more recently, Group Editor for Region Media. Genevieve is a director of Regional Development Australia’s Southern NSW board and the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, and has an enduring interest in building community engagement. In 2021, she was made a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of her services to broadcasting and the community.

George Megalogenis

George Megalogenis is an author and journalist with four decades’ experience in the media. His book The Australian Moment won the 2013 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Non-fiction, the 2012 Walkley Award for Non-fiction and formed the basis for his ABC documentary series Making Australia Great. George is also the author of Faultlines, The Longest Decade, Australia’s Second Chance, and The Football Solution, as well as four Quarterly essays. His latest book, Three Shocks, Who We Are Becoming in the 21st Century was published in August 2026.

George Williams

Professor George Williams AO is the Vice-Chancellor and President at Western Sydney University. He is proud to lead an institution renowned for providing broad access to higher education and for achieving real-world impact through positive social, environmental and economic change in Western Sydney and globally. Professor Williams commenced Vice-Chancellor in July 2024, bringing decades of experience as a constitutional law scholar, teacher, senior leader in higher education, barrister and national thought leader. His latest essay is Aiming Higher: Universities and the future of Australian democracy.

Georgie Tunny

A familiar face to Australian audiences, Georgie Tunny has built a standout career across television, radio and digital platforms, including work hosting 10’s national Weekend News bulletin, The Project, The Amazing Race and her podcasts Two Good Sports and Ready For It. In 2026, Georgie published her debut novel Over to You, a behind-the-scenes story set in the high-stakes world of television news that explores ambition, friendship and the realities of working in the media industry.

Glenda Humes

Aunty Glenda Humes is a proud Gunditjmara woman. Her mob is from the Western districts of Victoria; but she grew up in Sydney. Later in life, Aunty Glenda moved to Canberra and studied Law at the Australian National University. Following her graduation, Aunty Glenda worked in a range of Aboriginal community-controlled organisations on law, health and family services. Captain Reg Saunders was Aunty Glenda’s father and she has worked to research and share his stories and those of many others. She is attending the festival with James Saunders to speak about Fighting for Country: The extraordinary life of Reg Saunders, Australia’s first Indigenous military officer, hero of two wars.
